West Virginia Wild & Wonderful GRITS

Meet the West Virginia Wild & Wonderful GRITS

Their Leaders

Jill Taylor

Jill lives with her husband Joe in Spencer, WV. They are both retired from the United States Navy and have a daughter, Kelsi, who attends West Virginia University. Jill and Joe have hunted in North America and Namibia for big game. In early 2018, Jill wanted to try and shoot those little orange clays. She said that she may not be able to hit a single one but she wanted to try. Her first time shooting trap she shot a 12 and fell in love with with sport. She now shoots trap and skeet at West Virginia Clays in Kanawha County. She has traveled to other states to shoot sporting clays and meet fellow GRITS members. Jill enjoys shooting with other women and teaching them anything that she can about the sport that she loves. She is a member of the NRA and just completed her Light Benchrest Distinguished Expert and is working on the Distinguished Expert Shotgun qualification. There is such a great camaraderie between women shooters and everyone just wants others to try shooting and have a fun time!

Grace Skaff

co-leader

Grace Skaff grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. While she enjoyed the outdoors as a child through horseback riding and a multitude of other sports, she did not begin to shoot until 2018. Since then she has been hooked to all facets of clay shooting. When not enjoying her shotgun, you can find her hanging out with her dog Stella (pictured) and traveling the country!
