Meet the Shoreline GRITS

Their Leader

Karen Haigh

When Karen started her last job, her husband Jack said, “Oh good, they run the SHOT Show.”  The what?  The Shooting Hunting & Outdoor Trade Show.  So, she volunteered in 1993 to go help in Houston just so that he could go.  That started a 20-year run of working with the team who produced the SHOT Show where she fell in love with the shooting sports and everything about them.  A few years later, they joined Fairfield County Fish, Game and Protective Association in Monroe CT and have been there ever since.  She’s been a regular at the Winter Trap Shooting League and pheasant hunts, in addition to Sporting Clays.  When she heard about GRITS in 2015, she joined the Hudson Valley Chapter right away.

Planning to continue shooting with the Hudson Valley GRITS, Karen saw an opportunity to expand GRITS closer to home and shoot more often.  When not shooting, she is busy boating, spending time with their dog, and gardening.  She currently freelances working on tradeshows around the country, including the NRA Annual Meeting.
