George Hi Plantation is excited to host its first GRITS Event. We welcome both seasoned hunters as well as those new to the sport of Upland Hunting to partake in a weekend just for women. We will provide shooting lessons geared to the Upland Hunt along with time to practice at our 5-stand before the hunt.
George Hi Plantation is an Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge located in Garland, North Carolina. Please view our website to see our beautiful hunting grounds of native grasses and pine forests. The accommodations are exquisite as is the cuisine. Our head Chef, Debbie Valenti, and the rest of the staff is excited to be part of this event. I am counting on you all to get Debbie out there to shoot a clay for the first time in her life. You will also meet the other Women of George Hi that make this such a wonderful place.
We can accommodate 12 hunters for this event. We’ll hunt in groups of three to a guide. We hunt over English Pointers and English Setters. The stars of the hunt are our adorable English Cocker Spaniels which are used for flushing and retrieving. Our guides are skilled, patient and caring and will help the new hunters every step of the way.
You must reserve your spot with a non-refundable deposit of $500 by February 5th. The GRITS price for this event is $1,170 single occupancy for the full itinerary below. Double up in a room and the price is $990.
Please note: At George Hi we only allow small gauge breech loading guns in the field when hunting quail. So no 12-gauges and no autoloaders, please. You may shoot any style of gun at the 5-stand. We have 8 loaner guns at no charge for those that need them.
